This is my go-to in winter, it warms you through and nourishes every part of your body. Super easy to make and you can add whatever extras you like, like fruit, seeds & nuts. My recipe is gluten-free but you can totally add oats if that is your preference.
I make mine with single-origin Australian almond milk (Mandole Orchard) but you can use whatever you have access to and feel free to use cow’s milk if that’s your thing. I use a few optional extra add-ins for more gut support.
I buy most of the ingredients from Source Bulkfoods, as it reduces plastic and waste.
Method (feel free to add more milk depending on desired thickness)
2/3 x Cups almond milk (or your milk choice) in a small pan
1 cup Quinoa Flakes & Lupin Flakes combined (or oats)
Add In’s – 1/2 Teaspoon each of Slippery Elm Powder, Ashgwanda Powder
1 Teaspoon of Turmeric Powder (I use Sol Spice mix)
Bring to simmer for 5 minutes, keep the lid on the pan
Serve in a bowl, drizzle with maple syrup, coconut yogurt (I use Coyo Mango), and Granola (I use keto GF one from bulkfoods) – again use whatever works for you.
Fruit – your choice of fruit, I stew my own rhubarb when in season and poach pears to switch it up.
Add On’s – Bee Pollen, Shredded Coconut, LSA, Nuts & Seeds, Cinnamon
